Editorial policy

Every number on a product card comes from the piece itself: the width, depth and height we publish, the fabric it wears, the load figure where one is stated. Where a piece does not state a figure, the card does not invent one.

Every quotation on this site comes from a document we opened and read on the date shown beside it, and it is checked character for character against the saved text every time the site is built. We quote official sources where a piece touches safety or health, and we link to the source.

We write as ourselves. We say what a piece does not do and who it will not suit, because a page of praise is an advertisement and not a description.

We do not publish star ratings or customer reviews we have not collected. When we publish them, they are quoted word for word, lowest rating first, and the number of ratings is counted once per family of colors and sizes rather than once per color of the same frame.

Prices are updated on a schedule and the date of the last update lives on one page, our prices page, so you always know where to look.
